Tips For Taking A Multi-Generational Disney World Vacation!

Hola from the Frog Pond! Today, we are ~leaping~ with joy to share the fifth video in our Making the Magic Affordable series with you! In this video, we’ll cover how to have a ~frogtastically~ fun multi-generational Disney World vacation, including our best tips on how to save when traveling with a large group.

1. First thing’s first — decide how you will tour the parks as a family (0:36). There are plenty of opportunities for you to experience rides and entertainment together (0:41). Even if Grandpa Frog sits out a few thrill rides, there is still so much family fun to discover … such as taking a ride on the Walt Disney World Railroad (0:56)! Keep in mind that the whole party doesn’t have to have the same FastPass+ reservations, so Grandma can ~hop~ into “it’s a small world” while the tadpoles tackle Space Mountain.

2. Stay together … or at least at the same Disney Resort hotel (1:06). There are plenty of hotel options at all different price points (1:10), so make sure to check out our “Hotel Overview” video linked below to find one that works for your family! You can save some extra green by using a grocery delivery service and eating breakfast in your room (1:20).

3. Plan at least one table-service meal a day (1:35). Character dining, such as Chef Mickey’s, are a fun way to bring the whole family together (1:47). ~Hop~ tip: Breakfast or lunch is usually less expensive than dinner, even at character meals (1:55).

Frog Family Tips:

~ Consider booking an affordable family suite — they sleep six adults, plus an infant in a crib (1:15)! Keep in mind, sometimes it’s cheaper to book two standard rooms than one suite (1:26), so make sure you compare prices.

~ Make sure to book advance dining reservations if you want a sit-down or table-service meal (1:41).

~ If you have picky eaters, consider a character meal that offers a buffet, although they can be more expensive than a la carte options (1:51).

~ If budgeting for meals in advance is important to you, look at purchasing a dining package (2:00). This allows you to keep your budget in mind, while also getting discounts on food.

Don’t ~froget~, sticking to one park per day if you have a large group will keep everyone ~hoppy~ and help save you money. You can also set a souvenir budget by giving tadpoles their own Disney gift cards … they will be so excited to “pay” for their own things! Plus, there’s always bigger savings to be had by booking hotel rooms and buying tickets from your favorite frogs (2:05).
