00:00 Intro

00:27 30) Soarin’ over California
Now running as Soarin’ Around the World, the original innovative hang-gliding simulator let guests take a beautiful scenic tour of California. Situated in front of a 180-degree, 80-foot screen, riders took in the sights and smells of the golden coast and culminated with a flight over Disneyland.

02:20 29) Hall of Presidents
Conceptualized by Walt Disney in the 1950’s, Hall of Presidents opened with the Magic Kingdom in the fall of 1971. Learn about the formation of our Constitution and the hard-fought struggles along the way—such as the American Revolution and the Civil War. Listen to the stirring words of John F. Kennedy echo through the theater and watch Abraham Lincoln—in attendance on stage—deliver his Gettysburg address.

04:36 28) Horizons
Running consistently for just 11 years, Horizons developed a cult following unlike any other Disney attraction. Taking guests on a tour of what the future may look like, the attraction utilized a suspended omnimover ride system and became a fan-favorite throughout the length of its existence. Finally closing down for good in 1999, the ride was replaced with Mission: SPACE.

07:24 27) Mission: SPACE
The most polarizing attraction built at Walt Disney World, Mission: SPACE had the unfortunate task of following in the footsteps of Horizons. Built by both Disney & NASA, Mission: SPACE’s goal was to simulate actual astronaut training. The result became one of Disney’s most intense thrill rides ever built.

10:22 26) It’s a Small World
Conceptualized and created in less than 11 months for the 1964 World’s Fair in New York, It’s a Small World’s unique boat-ride system became a turning point in the creation of future attractions such as pirates of the Caribbean. Selling more than 10-million tickets in 2 half-seasons at the World’s Fair, It’s a Small World quickly shifted to Disneyland, and in 1971 opened in Orlando with the rest of the Magic Kingdom.
