Christmas Celebrations in Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Christmas is an extra magical time at Walt Disney World Resort. ~Hop~ along as we look at how Disney’s Animal Kingdom is celebrating the holidays this year!

As you enter Discovery Island, you are greeted by a “merry menagerie” of whimsical animal puppets (0:15). These adorable life-size puppets come to life as they interact with guests and are joined by musicians playing holiday tunes (1:37). These “animals” are not shy! Look at how the penguin interacted with my camera (1:42). At night, the buildings are illuminated with beautiful animal-shaped luminaries (6:25). In Pandora, the expats living and working on this moon have gotten in on the holiday festivities with hand-made decorations to remind them of Christmas back on Earth (2:37). In the village of Harambe in Africa, take in the festive display of decorations that blend the color and textiles of Africa with Western traditions (3:35). Visit some of your favorite characters as you go back in time in Dinoland U.S.A. (5:01). Celebrate the holidays with Launchpad McQuack in his festive airplane hangar, or Donald Duck and Daisy Duck with their cheerful holiday displays. Scrooge McDuck is also here to wish you a Bah Humbug (5:52)! At the center of Disney’s Animal Kingdom is the Tree of Life, which awakens with dazzling lights and winter projections.
